About the instructor
Kat Forgacs, owner of BLISS Reiki and Animal Reiki, is a traditional Japanese Reiki teacher certified by the International House of Reiki, and an Animal Reiki teacher certified by Animal Reiki Source. Kat also received her Reiki 1-3 certifications in Western-style Reiki. For more information: BLISS Animal Reiki – Info & Q&A and facebook.com/blissreiki/events.
Kat started her Reiki journey 7 years ago in Western-style Reiki, instantly attracted to the strength and possibilities of Reiki healing. Early on, Kat felt a strong desire to learn how to practice Reiki in a way her cat would approve of. Following her intuition, and an inkling that there was something more to Reiki practice than direct hands-on healing, Kat did some research and soon found her way to California to complete Shinpiden (teacher) training in Animal Reiki, which quickly changed her life and her Reiki practice. Through Animal Reiki, Kat found her way into Usui Reiki Ryoho (traditional/nonwestern Reiki), on which Animal Reiki practices are based, and was at first amazed and then intrigued to discover that there was so much more to the system of Reiki than she had even imagined. Kat loves witnessing joy and freedom develop in her students through the insights of traditional Reiki, including techniques and practices for improving our physical and spiritual health, for increasing our resilience and emotional intelligence, and for expanding our ability to live joyfully and mindfully present in the world. Kat has now traveled to teach Reiki and Animal Reiki classes in urban New England, the Midwest, the Southwest, and Europe as well as at home in Bloomington, Indiana. Kat is a satellite member of the planning committee for the nonprofit educational organization Celebration of Reiki, Inc and gave a presentation on Animal Reiki at the annual Celebration of Reiki conference in Boston in 2017.
